Case Study: Honouring South Australia’s Cardiovascular Researchers with Professional Video

Overview

The South Australian Cardiovascular Research Network (SA CVRN) hosts an annual awards ceremony to celebrate leaders in cardiovascular science. For the 2024 event, we were commissioned to produce a series of profile videos showcasing each of the award recipients. These videos were presented at the ceremony to give the audience a closer look at the researchers’ work and its real-world impact.

The Approach

We worked closely with the SA CVRN team to plan and film each video in a way that matched the professional tone of the event while keeping each profile personal and engaging. Interviews were filmed on location with awardees across South Australia, capturing them in their research environments to add authenticity and visual context.

For award recipients based overseas, we used Riverside’s high-quality remote recording platform to capture clear, studio-grade interviews. This allowed us to maintain consistent video and audio quality across the project and include voices from outside Adelaide while keeping everything seamless and on-brand.

Our team used a two-camera setup for in-person interviews to add visual variety and depth, complemented by B-roll footage that helped illustrate the researchers’ contributions.

The Challenge

With recipients located both locally and internationally, scheduling and coordinating the interviews required careful planning. We had to maintain production quality across a wide range of environments and overcome the usual challenges of filming in active research spaces.

Outcome
